Description
Rhum J.M Single Barrel 2000 is a single barrel 20 Year Old Martinique rhum agricole from J.M, the prized distillery working the volcanic Macouba slopes below Mont Pelee since 1845. Drawn from a single 2000 cask, two decades of tropical ageing place it well into mature XO territory.
Distilled from fresh sugar cane juice and matured in ex-bourbon oak, then bottled unsweetened at 41.7%, a long-aged J.M of this kind leans firmly to the woody, dry side, the grassy agricole core giving way to toasted oak, baking spice and a long, gently astringent finish. A serious single barrel for drinkers who like their agricole mature and oak-led.
