Rest & Be Thankful selected this Clarendon as a single cask of marque MPG, drawing on the central Jamaican workhouse that runs both pot and column and whose pot-still marks reward patient ageing. At twenty-two years in ex-bourbon oak this is a mature, gently evolved Jamaican rather than a young funk bomb.

The nose is quietly spicy with clove leading, and the palate turns earthy with a caramel sweetness that comes from the long maturation rather than any additive. It is a restrained, savoury expression where two decades of oak have softened the ester intensity into something rounded and contemplative. Bottled at 53.9% as a single cask, it shows Clarendon in a reflective mood, less about explosive tropical fruit and more about the slow interplay of spice, earth and barrel. A pour for drinkers who value age and subtlety over raw power.
