ReimonenQ Réserve RQL 1999

ReimonenQ is a Guadeloupe distillery, and this Reserve RQL is a 1999 vintage bottled at 44% with 19 years of age behind it. Pressed from fresh cane juice rather than molasses, it shows how the grassy agricole character mellows over nearly two decades in cask.

Matured in ex-bourbon oak, it has softened into a silky, approachable sipper. The nose offers oak, apricot and fruit, the palate adds spice and cherry over polished wood, and the finish stays woody and gently spiced with a faint smokiness. At a relaxed 44% the alcohol all but disappears, leaving exotic fruit, caramel, vanilla and oak in easy balance. An elegant, unforced old agricole for quiet sipping, where age has traded power for smoothness.
