Pusser‘s Rum Gunpowder Proof (Black Label)

Pusser's revives the rich, dark style of the old Royal Navy rum ration, a blend built for body and proof rather than delicacy. The recipe leans heavily on Guyanese Demerara rum, whose heritage wooden stills give the deep molasses, brown sugar and smoky char that define the English navy register, distilled here across both pot and column stills and aged in ex-bourbon oak.

At navy strength of 54.5% it drinks bold and full, with dark molasses, burnt sugar, coffee, cocoa and warm wood spice, a peppery edge running underneath. The proof carries the flavour without turning harsh, making it as comfortable stirred into a dark, spicy cocktail as it is sipped slowly.
