Description
Padrecito fine Organic Blanco is a 100% Blue Weber tequila produced in Jalisco at NOM 1614, Tequilera Tap, a house the producer describes as additive-free and one that also turns out names such as Cazcanes and Tres Agaves. The line was developed with Spanish bartender David Rios alongside Mexican distiller Erika Sangeado, and the brief was a blanco built to carry classic cocktails as much as a neat pour.
Unaged and bottled at 40%, it shows the unsmoked, steam-cooked character of tequila rather than any roast. The nose runs fresh and herbaceous, fresh grass, sweet capsicum, green olive and cooked agave threaded with eucalyptus and mint. The palate stays bright with citrus, cooked agave, fresh pineapple and a clean lift of white pepper, finishing balsamic and supple. A vegetal, lowland-leaning blanco that keeps the agave front and centre.
