Description
Olmeca Tezon Reposado is a 100% Blue Weber tequila from Jalisco, the upper line of the Pernod Ricard owned Olmeca house. Created by Don Jesus Hernandez and launched in 2005, the Tezon range sits above the standard Olmeca bottlings and is positioned around longer barrel rest.
This reposado spends roughly ten months in oak casks, a notably longer stay than the two month minimum for the rested class, so the wood reads more firmly than on many reposados. Aromas of agave wrapped in dark wood and fresh citrus lead into a palate of cooked agave with vanilla, caramel and oak, lifted by orange and bright citrus fruit. The cooked-agave sweetness stays in balance with the wood through a smooth, gently spiced close, bottled at 38%.
