A 1997 vintage from the Neisson Collection in Martinique, distilled from fresh cane juice and bottled at 44.1%, a long-aged, unsweetened agricole from a small family distillery prized by enthusiasts.
Description
Neisson is a small family distillery in Martinique, founded in 1931 and long a favourite among agricole enthusiasts, working from fresh-pressed sugar cane juice. This Collection Armada 1997 is a deep vintage release from the world's only rum AOC, where added sugar is banned and long tropical ageing shapes the spirit.
Bottled at 44.1% with no sweetening, it sits at the elegant, mature end of the agricole spectrum. A vintage of this age typically shows the grassy cane core deepening into vanilla, baking spice, cocoa and toasted oak, dry and refined rather than sweet. A serious, contemplative pour from one of Martinique's most respected small houses.
