A single-cask Martinique agricole from Neisson, the small family distillery prized by enthusiasts, distilled from fresh cane juice on a Creole column in 2004, aged 15 years in ex-bourbon oak and bottled at 44.8%.
Description
Neisson Armada 88eme anniversaire 2004 is a single-cask rhum agricole from Neisson, a small family distillery founded in 1931 and a name long held in high regard by Martinique rum enthusiasts. Distilled from fresh cane juice on a Creole column still, drawn from a 2004 vintage and aged 15 years in ex-bourbon oak, it is an anniversary bottling within the island's AOC tradition.
No formal tasting notes are recorded, so expect the aged-agricole house style: a grassy cane core deepened by long tropical maturation toward vanilla, baking spice, toasted oak, cocoa and leather, drier and more spice-forward than a sweet molasses rum. Bottled unsweetened at 44.8% from a single cask, it rewards slow, neat sipping.
