Neisson 1995 Joint Velier

Neisson is a small family distillery on Martinique and a long-standing favourite, and this 1995 vintage was released in collaboration with Velier, the most prestigious name in collectible rum. Nineteen years of tropical ageing put it well past the XO threshold and into reference territory for aged agricole.

Distilled from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice on a column still and matured in ex-bourbon oak, it has reached a refined, dessert-like register. The nose offers toffee, dried fruit, herbs and hazelnut, while the palate brings caramel, more dried fruit, tea and a notably balanced shape. The finish carries caramel, anise, fruit and a minty lift. Unsweetened and bottled at 48%, this is a polished, elegant aged agricole where patisserie notes and balance take the lead, a slow-sipping pour for those who already know and love mature Neisson.
