Mayaciel Margarita Spritz is a bottled mixed drink rather than a straight tequila, built on the brand's 100% agave Tequila Blanco and blended with zesty lime, agave syrup and a little salt. At 24% it sits well below tequila strength, designed as a ready to serve Margarita that needs only a glass and ice. The maker states it uses no colouring and no artificial additives.
The aroma is citrus fresh, organic and lightly sweet, with the agave base clearly present. On the palate lemon and lime sit against a full bodied sweetness, the agave flavour carrying through the mix. It can be poured neat over ice straight from the bottle, or lengthened with a splash of soda water and ice for a lighter, longer summer style spritz. The agave syrup supplies the rounded sweetness that frames the lime.
