Langs Banana

Langs Banana is a flavoured rum based spirit drink bottled at 37.5%, built around ripe banana. It is honestly a sweet, fruit flavoured bottle rather than a traditional rum, and is best judged on those terms, where its easy banana character and low strength are exactly the appeal.

Banana leads throughout, sweet and ripe on the nose with caramel and vanilla, the palate fruity and caramelised with banana and chocolate, the finish carrying dried fruit and a touch of toasted wood. At a low strength it goes down easily, and drinkers find it pleasant and full of cocktail potential, even pairing it in mind with Jamaican rum for a banana forward mix. Sugar is undeclared but clearly present. It is mixer fuel, made to lift a tropical cocktail rather than to be sipped neat.
