Description
La Certeza Añejo is a 100% Blue Weber tequila made and bottled at the Tierra de Agaves estate near the town of Tequila in Jalisco, the heart of the lowland tequila country. The producer descends from the Beckmann line, among the oldest tequila families, who set out on their own after years tied to Jose Cuervo, and the house aims for restraint rather than weight.
The spirit is twice distilled on traditional pot stills and then matured twelve months in a mix of used bourbon and French oak casks, which give it its deep gold colour and long legs. Aromas of roasted pepper, almond, vanilla and oak lead to a soft, almost neutral entry that turns dry and peppery, with a touch of leather and cedar. The finish is light and dry, a quiet añejo that flatters a savoury martini or a tonic and lime longdrink.
