King Cask Foursquare Rum 2011

A 10 year old Foursquare from the 2011 vintage, bottled at cask strength by King Cask. As ever with Foursquare, the Seale family distillery in St Philip, this is a traditional pot and column blend made with no added sugar, colour or flavour, so the appeal rests on honest distillate and oak.

Matured in ex-bourbon casks, it leads with honey, vanilla and a syrupy richness before opening into tropical fruit, coconut and wood, finishing spicy and roasted with a coffee note. It is a recognisable, dependable Foursquare, the kind that earns its place at 58% where the extra strength carries the fruit and subtle sweetness well. Unsweetened, with the dry Barbados backbone intact under the riper notes.
