HSE Titouan Lamazou

HSE, made at the Distillerie du Simon, gives this Titouan Lamazou blanc its fresh, fruit leaning character. It is full AOC rhum agricole from Martinique, distilled from fresh pressed sugarcane juice on a column still and bottled unaged at 50 percent, the cane left to speak without sugar or oak in the way.

Where many blancs lead with grassy snap, this one puts fruit and freshness up front. The nose is floral with white flowers, citrus and a light fruity edge, the palate turns to tropical fruit, citrus and a round, naturally sweet feel that stays dry, and the finish carries floral notes with a touch of bitter orange. The result is a balanced, elegant white where sweetness and citrus mingle without any added sugar. It is a fine sipper for those who like their agricole bright and floral, and a natural for a fresh, fragrant Ti Punch.
