Hendrick’s Gin Sunspell

Hendrick's has been bending the rules of gin since 1999, and Sunspell is one of master distiller Lesley Gracie's limited flights of fancy. The brief was a Scottish sunset, its vivid colours and particular hush, translated into liquid. The result keeps the house's curious spirit while reaching for warmth: ripe citrus standing in for the golden light of dusk, a measured spiciness lending the balance and depth that stops it tipping into sweetness.

The nose is bright with citrus and a flicker of spice. The palate is full-bodied, that warm citrus leading while the subtle spice fills in behind, refreshing and layered at once. The finish runs long and gently warming. It makes an easy, generous G&T with a wide slice of orange, or sip it long over plenty of ice to watch the citrus open.
