Hampden Rum Fire

Rum Fire is Hampden Estate at full volume, an unaged white overproof from the Trelawny distillery that is the reference point for high-ester Jamaican funk. Hampden ferments wild over long periods, uses dunder and traditional muck pits to drive ester formation, and distils on double-retort pot stills, all with no additives. This bottling draws on its HLCF marque, sitting at the threshold of the high-ester range.

The aroma is pure hogo: overripe banana, pineapple, olive brine, acetone and glue, the love-it-or-hate-it extreme of ester driven rum. Unaged and bottled at a fierce 63%, it is intense, fruity and fermented on the palate with a long, estery finish. This is a spirit for experienced palates who already chase the funk, a formidable mixer that supercharges a Mai Tai and a bold, concentrated neat pour for the committed.
