Description
WPE is Worthy Park's extra mark, the estate's heaviest ester recipe, and this Habitation Velier white pushes it to 151 proof, a fierce 75.5%. Part of Velier's pot-still, single-distillery Pure Single Rum line, it is raw Worthy Park distillate from the 2017 vintage with no cask ageing.
Unaged and overproof, this is the estate's funk at full volume. Alcohol, glue, tropical fruit and varnish dominate the nose, then the palate brings heat, banana and burn over a solventy core, finishing warm, alcoholic, synthetic and dried-date sweet. Certified unsweetened, it is intense and concentrated, far too hot for casual neat sipping, which is the point. Cut with water or built into a Daiquiri it delivers enormous tropical funk and value, a high-octane mixer for seasoned drinkers who want maximum Worthy Park character to power through a cocktail rather than a pour for sipping.
