    700ml / 46%
    Single Malt

    $225

An 18 year old Glencadam from the distillery, at 46%. A light orchard fruit and citrus. Long a core malt of the Ballantine’s blend. Water comes from Loch Lee in the Cairngorms. Revived under Angus Dundee ownership in 2003 after a three year closure. Its upward angled lyne arms raise the reflux for a lighter, fruitier spirit. This is the rather delicate Highland malt.

An 18 year old Glencadam, a distillery bottling, at 46%. Glencadam is a Highland single malt known for a delicate, fruity, creamy style. Its stills carry lyne arms angled upward, raising the reflux for a lighter, fruitier spirit. Its single malts are bottled at 46 percent, without chill filtration or added colour.

The spirit was distilled in onion shaped copper pot stills, building a soft malt of orchard fruit and a creamy sweetness. A refill bourbon hogshead held it, keeping the fresh, fruity character to the fore. Into oxidative maturity, slow air builds tropical esters of mango and pineapple over a creamy depth. Vanillin and oak lactones from the wood lend vanilla and a soft coconut over the fruit. A soft, creamy texture from the spirit carries through the maturation. First fill wood drives the maturation, the cask clear in the light spirit.

At an approachable 46% it is fresh and clean. Pear drops, melon and a soft barley sugar, lifted by a soft oak. A light orchard fruit and a soft spice give it shape. The close is light and clean, fruit over a gentle oak. This is Glencadam's creamy, fruity Highland character.
