This Glencadam was bottled by The Whisky Chamber, a 10 year old, distilled in 2011, from cask 800256, at 59.4%, one of 260 bottles. Glencadam is a Highland single malt, long a blending malt and now bottled as a single malt in its own right. Its water comes from Loch Lee in the Cairngorms, piped down through the River Esk catchment.

It was taken gently through wash and spirit stills, for a creamy, fruity make with real elegance. It was matured in a Port cask, the wood working into the fruity malt. Through integration spirit and wood marry, vanillin rounding out as esters lend a riper orchard and tropical fruit. Years in oak deepen the spirit to old gold, the body growing rounder and creamier with time. Long ageing turns the fresh pear towards tropical fruit, honey and a gentle spice. A soft, creamy texture from the spirit carries through the maturation.

At its natural 59.4% it is full and fruity. A light orchard fruit and a green herb, with red berry, plum and a dry spice from the cask. Soft pear and a creamy vanilla sit behind the cask. A long, fruity finish carries a creamy honey. This is a fresh, fruity Highland single malt.
