Ferroni Honey Rum

Ferroni Honey Rum is a flavoured rum liqueur from the French house better known for its cask strength Brut de Fut bottlings, here working in a far sweeter register. Drawn from rum across multiple origins and reduced to 37.5%, it is sold for what it is, a honey forward sweet drink rather than a spirit to study.

Honey dominates from start to finish, backed by honeycomb and brown sugar, with very little of the underlying rum showing through. This is a sweetened product and there is no pretending otherwise, the body is thick and the finish sugary, which makes it easy to enjoy over ice or stirred into a hot drink but cloying for anyone after a dry aged rum. Treat it as a dessert pour or a cocktail sweetener, not a daily sipper, and it lands roughly where it intends.
