Fair Travellers Extra Old Acacia Finish is a molasses rum from the Travellers distillery in Belize, finished in acacia wood and bottled at 40% by the fair trade focused brand Fair. The acacia cask is an unusual choice that lends a gentle spice and floral lift to the more familiar bourbon barrel profile.

The nose is warm and inviting with oak, vanilla, caramel and dried fruit, and the palate stays in that register, dried fruit, oak and vanilla joined by a soft chocolate note. At 40% it is a smooth, gentle pour, leaning on sweet barrel character rather than high intensity or funk. The acacia finish gives it a slightly different accent without overpowering the base.
