Citrus and juniper lead, velvety and round, with liquorice and cardamom adding a warm, faintly sweet spice underneath. Distilled in copper pot stills in Amsterdam from ten botanicals, it leans Dutch and approachable, smooth enough to sip yet built to mix. The finish stays fresh and lightly spiced.
Description
Damrak takes its name from Amsterdam's old harbour street and its character from Lucas Bols, the storied Dutch house behind it. Ten carefully chosen botanicals, including juniper, citrus, liquorice and cardamom, are distilled in copper pot stills using traditional methods, giving a gin that is full-bodied yet notably smooth, the Dutch genever heritage softened into something modern and easy.
The nose is fresh with citrus and juniper over subtle herbal spice and a hint of liquorice and cardamom. The palate is round and velvety, intense citrus against an elegant juniper base, a light sweetness and a flick of cardamom and anise rounding it out. It finishes long, citrus-fresh and gently spiced. Build a G&T with premium tonic and orange zest to lift the citrus.
