Conde de 11 Años

Conde de 11 Anos is an 11 Year Old Cuban ron from Conde de Cuba, distilled on column stills in the island's light ron ligero tradition and aged in ex-bourbon oak. At a gentle 38% it is built for easy, sociable drinking, and it has a reputation as a well priced, honest Cuban.

Cuba's column molasses spirit is clean and light by design, so the barrel carries the flavour here: vanilla, citrus, a touch of alcohol and tobacco on the nose, then burnt sugar, oak, vanilla and honey on the palate, closing on dark chocolate, grapefruit, tobacco and oak. The interplay of light citrus and grapefruit against dark chocolate and pipe tobacco gives it a harmonious, more than competent character for the money. Lightly sweet and smooth rather than dry or intense, it is an approachable everyday Cuban that some drinkers rate above the brand's older 15 year expression.
