Château Pesquié, a prominent family-owned winery in the Ventoux region of France, was founded in 1970 by the grandparents of current owners Frédéric and Alexandre Chaudière. The winery produces Château Pesquié Silica Rouge, a wine named for the silicon-rich soil of its single vineyard. Silicon, an element found in sandstone, clay, and granite, is beneficial for agriculture and enhances crop growth. Made from organically and biodynamically cultivated Grenache and Cinsault grapes, Silica Rouge reflects the vibrant terroir of its origin.

Description
The production of Château Pesquié Silica Rouge involves meticulous attention to detail. Grapes are hand-harvested at peak ripeness and undergo gentle maceration in the winery for nearly four weeks. Vinification is carried out using native yeasts in a combination of 600-liter barrels (75%) and cement eggs (25%). The wine is aged for 15 months before bottling, allowing it to develop its characteristic liveliness, finesse, and elegance. As with their other single-vineyard wines, Artemia and Ascensio, the unique terroir of the vineyard allows Château Pesquié to produce an exceptional cuvée. This dedication to quality makes Silica Rouge an essential wine of the AOC Ventoux, reflecting both the rich history and innovative spirit of Château Pesquié.
