Description
Compagnie des Indes, the respected terroir led French bottler, selected this single cask of Foursquare, the strict no additives pot and column rum from Richard Seale's St Philip distillery in Barbados. Distilled in 2011 and aged ten years, it is presented at its natural 57.2%.
Matured in ex-bourbon oak, it leans into the coconut and vanilla heart of the Barbadian style, with yellow fruit and a fresh acidity giving it lift. The palate stays fruity and creamy with coconut and vanilla, the finish bright and a little spirit forward with a glue edge and crisp citrus. Unsweetened and at full strength, it shows the clean, rounded distillery character with extra proof and freshness, the kind of natural single cask that could pass for a distillery release, well put together and easy to enjoy slowly.
