CDI Carribean 2013

Caribbean 2013 is a multi distillery single cask from Compagnie des Indes, the French house led by Florent Beuchet and respected for its terroir led, broad ranging selections. Drawn from a single ex-bourbon cask and bottled at eight years of age, it represents the natural, unembellished side of the bottler's range rather than one of its lightly dosed entry blends.

Matured in the cooler European climate and bottled at 43%, it shows a dry, nutty and woody profile, with cappuccino and roasted notes on the nose giving way to toasted oak and dark chocolate on the palate. The finish is nutty and warming with a pungent, spirit forward edge. This is a restrained, savoury style of rum rather than a sweet or fruit driven one, suited to drinkers who appreciate a drier, oak and cocoa led Caribbean blend taken neat.
