Calico's Crew Anne Bonny's Favourite is an independently bottled Panamanian, drawn from the soft, vanilla and spice molasses rum the country is known for. Distilled on a column still and bottled at a gentle 40%, it stands out for a vivid fruitiness the bottler attributes to the spirit rather than any added flavouring.

Strawberry is the signature here, an intense note likely born of a lively fermentation. The nose mixes strawberry with caramel, plum and sweetness, the palate brings vanilla, more strawberry, a caramelised edge and cream toffee, and the finish stays fruity and sweet with a sharp alcoholic touch. The overall character is soft and approachable in the Panamanian mould, lifted by that distinctive berry fruit. Sugar status is not declared and it reads sweet and fruity. A fun, fruit forward Panamanian for a sociable evening rather than a serious study pour.
