Description
Bumbu Liqueur Cream is a Barbados branded rum cream rather than a sipping rum, built on molasses spirit and a heavy dose of dairy, sugar and flavouring. At 15% it sits far below sipping strength, and its appeal is openly that of a sweet, creamy treat in the mould of other rum and dairy liqueurs.
The profile is thick and confectionery, vanilla and cream on the nose, sweet dairy with cinnamon and coconut across the palate, and a soft, synthetic-edged sweetness on the finish. There is little of the wood, ester or distillery character that defines a serious Barbados rum, and it makes no pretence otherwise. Served cold over ice, poured over dessert, or used in cocktails, it does the job it was designed for, a sweet indulgence rather than a neat pour for rum drinkers chasing real cask depth.
