Bristol Classic Rum is an England-based bottler that has long specialised in closed-distillery and older Caribbean stock, billing its releases as liquid history. This Caribbean Collection Trinidad rum is a pot-still bottling with no stated age, the kind of quietly sourced bottle that rewards those who go looking. Bristol is mostly a purist house, though sweetness is not declared here.

Distilled from molasses on a pot still and oak-aged, it shows a savoury, mature character: leather, tobacco, caramel and honey on the nose, then oak, vanilla and a sweet edge on the palate, with caramel and fruit on the finish. The pot-still base gives it more grip than the typical light Trinidad rum, leaning toward leather and tobacco rather than chocolate and tropical fruit. A characterful older-style pour, increasingly hard to find, for drinkers who enjoy hunting down quieter bottlings.
