Brands For Fans created this Kiss Detroit Rock Rum in partnership with the band, drawing a fifteen year old molasses rum from the Dominican Republic. It works the island's amber, vanilla and caramelised nut style, distilled on a column still and aged in ex bourbon wood, with raisin, nougat, fruit and vanilla filling out the nose. At 45% it carries more backbone than many soft Dominican bottlings.

The palate is raisin led and sweet but balanced, with vanilla and a rounded feel, finishing on caramel, vanilla and a sugarcane note. As with much Dominican rum there is an evident sweetness, but the higher strength keeps it in check and stops it tipping into cloying, giving a fuller, more characterful pour than the proof might suggest. It is an enjoyable, accessible sipper that happens to carry a music collaboration, with enough fruit and depth to stand on its own.
