Description
The Patrón x Guillermo del Toro Limited Edition is a one off collaboration created to sit outside Patrón’s core range. At its centre is a 700ml Extra Añejo tequila made from 100 percent Blue Weber agave, slow cooked in traditional brick ovens, extracted using a combination of tahona stone and roller mill, double distilled, and aged for approximately five years in a mix of American and French oak barrels. Alongside it sits a 100ml aged orange liqueur, developed to be enjoyed with the tequila as part of the intended ritual rather than as a standalone afterthought.
The tequila delivers layered maturity rather than overt oak, with cooked agave, orange oil, vanilla, caramel, honey, cinnamon, and soft spice, followed by a long, settled finish. The orange liqueur mirrors and amplifies those flavours, adding citrus depth and sweetness without overwhelming the spirit. Together, they create a deliberate pairing that rewards slow, intentional drinking rather than casual use.
Presentation is central to the release. Designed with direct input from Guillermo del Toro, the packaging unfolds into an altar style display featuring sculptural bottles and ceremonial elements. It is dramatic by design and unapologetically impractical. Released in extremely limited quantities and long absent from standard retail channels, this set now exists firmly in collector territory, valued as much for its narrative, rarity, and presence as for what is in the glass.
