Chopin Family Reserve Extra Rare is a Polish vodka made from young potatoes at the Chopin Distillery in small, hand-worked batches. The young-potato base gives it a velvety, full body and real complexity rather than plain neutrality. Bottled at 40% in a gift box, it was named Vodka of the Year at the 2024 Meininger’s awards.

Description
Chopin Family Reserve sits at the top of the house's range, and like the rest of the Chopin line it is a single-ingredient vodka, here built from young potatoes worked by hand in small batches at the distillery in Poland. Potato as a base gives vodka a fuller, creamier and more textured body than grain, and the young-potato spin pushes that toward a soft, complex character rather than a clean neutral one. It is bottled at 40% and arrives in a gift box, and the bottling took Vodka of the Year at Meininger's International Spirits Award in 2024.
The nose is pure and clean, with fresh potato, light citrus and a hint of creamy vanilla. The palate is soft and complex, a velvety potato sweetness with subtle spice and a fine citrus freshness that rounds off the close, and the finish is long and smooth. A vodka with this much body and detail is wasted in a cocktail, so drink it neat: chill the bottle hard, pour a small measure into a cold glass and sip it slowly, letting the creamy potato texture and the layered finish do the work on their own.
