El Hispano Jalapeño Liquor

El Hispano Jalapeno Liquor is a spiced liqueur from Mexico, bottled at 30% and built on a spirit base refined with real jalapenos. It combines the fiery character of the Mexican pepper with the soft sweetness of a finely balanced liqueur, so the chilli kick sits against fruit and a light sweetness rather than standing alone. The genuine jalapeno is the defining element, joined by tropical pineapple and mango notes and a backing of cinnamon, clove and ginger.

The nose is spicy and savoury with clear jalapeno over sweet accents, the palate sweet and spicy with strong pepper, a pleasant heat and a harmonious balance, finishing warming, persistent and slightly fiery. Behind the bar it brings chilli heat, a savoury pepper note and tropical fruit, which makes it a natural spice in a margarita variation, a way to bring warmth to a tequila or mezcal serve, and a partner to pineapple or mango juice in a long drink. Serve it over ice for an intense pour on its own, or use a measure to bring a jalapeno edge to a fruity cocktail.
