La Liqueur de Monin Manzana Verde is a green apple liqueur from Monin, the French syrup and liqueur house based in Bourges. It carries the crisp flavour of green apples at 20% in the 700ml bottle, the fruit built in the traditional macerated style with a balance of natural acidity and subtle sweetness that keeps the apple sharp and bright rather than candied.
The nose is fresh and intense, typical Granny Smith, the palate refreshingly tart and fruity with a fine sweetness and a slightly bitter finish, closing lively and clean. In a mix it brings sharp orchard fruit, a touch of bitterness and a vivid green colour, the reason it carries an Appletini, a Sour Apple Fizz or an Apple Mojito. Lengthened with tonic, ginger ale or sparkling wine it makes a refreshing aperitif, and it flavours apple desserts and sorbets in the kitchen.
