Licor 43 Cuarenta y Tres Horchata comes from Diego Zamora in Cartagena, makers of the Spanish best seller Licor 43, built on a family recipe of forty three ingredients around exotic fruits, herbs and vanilla. This vegan edition reworks the golden liqueur into the style of horchata, the Valencian tiger nut drink, giving it a creamy, spiced, nutty character while staying free of dairy, and is bottled at 16% in a one litre format.
The nose carries citrus, spices, earthy horchata, roasted nuts and floral aromas, the palate creamy, light and refreshing, complex with subtle sweetness, citrus fruits and spices over a long finish. Behind the bar it adds a creamy, cinnamon spiced and nutty sweetness with aromatic citrus, which makes it a useful body and flavour note for creamy long drinks and dairy free dessert serves. Pour it over ice, lengthen it with milk or a plant alternative, or stir it into coffee for a spiced, horchata style cocktail. Serve it well chilled.
