Description
Bols Natural Yoghurt is a yoghurt based cream liqueur from Bols of Amsterdam, distilling and blending since 1575. Rather than the heavy, sweet character of a standard cream liqueur, it is built around a fresh yoghurt flavour with a light lactic acidity, bottled at a gentle 15% into a creamy, refreshing base for mixing.
The nose is fresh yoghurt with a slight lactic tang and a subtle sweetness, the palate creamy and slightly tart with a balanced sweetness and a mild yoghurt character, the finish smooth, fresh and faintly fruity. Behind the bar it adds creamy body and a tart, dairy freshness that keeps a dessert drink from turning cloying, pairing well with berries, tropical fruit and chocolate. It works in fruity cocktails and dessert serves, especially alongside strawberry or mango, and stands in for cream where a lighter, tangier note is wanted. As a dairy liqueur, keep it chilled and use it within a few months of opening.
