Berliner Luft Kalter Kaffee

Berliner Luft Kalter Kaffee is a coffee liqueur from Schilkin, the Berlin family distiller behind the Berliner Luft peppermint range and in business since 1932. It crosses cold brewed coffee with the brand's familiar peppermint base, joining roasted depth to a cooling mint freshness at 15%. The cold brew approach draws a smoother, less acidic coffee than hot extraction.

The nose is intense roasted coffee with a subtle peppermint freshness, the palate full bodied and smooth with strong coffee, a pleasant sweetness and a cooling mint note, the finish smooth and refreshing with lingering coffee and a hint of peppermint. Behind the bar it brings coffee roast, sweetness and a distinctive minty edge, a ready twist on the coffee canon. It is built for a Mint Espresso Martini with espresso and vodka, makes a cooling White Russian variation, and pours neat over ice. Serve it well chilled, where the mint and coffee both sharpen.
