A Croatian honey liqueur from Badel 1862, built around acacia and chestnut honey for a natural, creamy pour at 24%; soft and floral with vanilla and citrus peel, it brings honeyed sweetness and body to a stirred drink.

Description
Badel Medica is a traditional Croatian honey liqueur from Badel 1862, the Zagreb house making spirits and liqueurs since 1862. Known in different regions as Medenica, Medovaca or Medovica, it is built around honey, with acacia and chestnut honey giving it its colour and its character. It is bottled at 24%, sitting in the gentle middle of the liqueur range where the honey can lead rather than the alcohol.
The nose is natural and honeyed, the palate creamy and soft with acacia and chestnut honey over a long, mellow finish, with vanilla, almond and citrus peel rounding it out. Behind the bar it works as a honeyed sweetener with real body, a way to add floral sweetness and weight to a whisky sour or a hot toddy without reaching for syrup. It also lengthens with tea or hot water against the cold and pours neat over ice as a digestif. A useful honey note for a back bar that wants warmth rather than sugar.
