Description
Cazcanes Joven No.7 is a 100% Blue Weber tequila in the joven class from a cult Los Altos house. Rather than the common shortcut of blanco lightly cut with reposado, this is a composed blend across four maturation stages, weighted toward blanco with reposado, añejo and a small extra añejo fraction, assembled to taste rather than to a fixed formula.
The aim is to keep the agave bright while borrowing the structure of well rested tequila. The nose leads on aged notes of caramel, vanilla and toasted coconut, carried by the house Cazcanes minerality and baked agave. The palate opens with the blanco energy of citrus and white pepper, then unfolds layers of baked apple, butterscotch and a touch of oak. At 40% it drinks as an even, sipping style that is neither too woody nor too sharp.
