Description
Atanasio is a blue Weber tequila reposado produced at NOM 1599, the Familia Landeros distillery in Tequila, Jalisco, in the lowland Tequila Valley, a facility that previously produced Cazcanes. It is a 100% agave tequila rested in oak beyond the two month reposado minimum, with a profile that balances cooked agave against gentle barrel sweetness.
The agave is cooked in low pressure autoclave, extracted in a roller mill and twice distilled in a stainless pot, fermented under open sky without fibre, then reduced with deep well water and bottled at 40%. The nose layers sweet agave, vanilla and pepper with fruity notes, orange peel, basil and orange blossom over a hint of butterscotch. The palate harmonises sweet agave, vanilla and caramel with pepper, earthy notes, butter, melon, cherry, orange, anise, spearmint, nutmeg and honey, closing clean, bright and light.
