Description
Ginraw came out of Barcelona with a chef's mindset, the work of top cooks, sommeliers and bartenders rather than a single distiller. Its method is what sets it apart: some botanicals run through a traditional copper pot still, others are distilled cold in a rotary evaporator, a technique borrowed from haute cuisine that preserves the most delicate volatile aromas. The bill reads like a Mediterranean larder with exotic guests, juniper, lemon peel, kaffir lime leaves, bay, cardamom, coriander and galangal, balanced with real precision.
The nose offers fresh citrus and a subtle floral note of rose petals, with green tea and thyme in support. The palate is full and complex, strong juniper folding into lemon zest, coriander and rose, rounded by a quiet herbal spice. The finish is long, herbal and citrus-fresh. Drink it chilled and neat, or pour it over a G&T with good tonic and a sprig of thyme alongside grilled fish or ceviche.
