Rutte Dutch Dry Gin

Rutte in the Netherlands built this gin around an unexpected ingredient. A refined development of their classic Celery Gin, it blends organic botanicals, juniper, celery, coriander, angelica, orange peel and cardamom, with celery as the signature. That lends a gentle savoury salinity and a pleasantly bitter background that sets it apart from the citrus-and-spice crowd.

The nose is fresh and spicy, celery meeting orange peel and a floral note of coriander and angelica; the palate is dry and full-bodied, clear juniper joined by subtle celery spice and the pungency of cardamom. The finish is long, clean and faintly bitter. Serve it in a G&T with a quality tonic and a celery stick, or stir it into a savoury Martini alongside seafood.
