Warm vanilla and caramel wrap around citrus zest, wild herbs and a dusting of cinnamon and roasted spice, the cask softening everything it touches. Bruichladdich’s 22 wild Islay botanicals, rested in oak that once held other spirits, give it a golden shimmer and real depth. A gin to sip slowly by the fire.

Description
The Botanist comes from Bruichladdich on Islay, a distillery as serious about gin as it is about whisky, built around 22 botanicals foraged wild from the island itself. For this Cask Rested edition the original dry gin is laid down in oak casks that once held other spirits, a gentle maturation that softens the texture and folds in warm vanilla, honey, caramel and roasted spice without smothering the herbal, citrus character underneath.
The nose is fresh yet warm, citrus zest and herbs alongside woody notes, vanilla and dried flowers. The palate is complex and smooth, wild herbs and juniper meeting cinnamon, light oak, caramel and a hint of roasted spice, before a long, elegant finish of subtle sweetness and botanical freshness. At 46% it rewards slow sipping at room temperature, or stir it into a barrel-aged Negroni or a gin old fashioned.
