G'Vine Floraison is built around the grape rather than grain: it begins with Ugni Blanc, the variety best known from cognac, and its defining gesture is harvesting the vine flowers by hand during the floraison, the brief flowering that lasts only a few days in mid-June. Those blossoms give the gin its intense floral signature, fleshed out by a careful bill of nutmeg, cubeb, ginger, liquorice, juniper, lime, coriander, green cardamom and cassia bark, all balanced at 40 percent by Maison Villevert.

The nose is intensely floral with vine blossom and lime, hints of nutmeg, ginger and cubeb behind. The palate is soft and complex, the floral, fresh core harmonised with coriander, green cardamom and a whisper of cinnamon and liquorice, before a long, fine, herbal-floral finish. Serve it with a quality tonic and a slice of lime, or stir it into a fragrant Gin Sour.
