Yamazaki Club Yamana 55th Anniversary is a single malt released to mark a milestone, drawn from Suntory's distillery in the valley of Shimamoto, Osaka Prefecture, where the meeting of three rivers and humid air shape the maturing spirit. Bottled for the German market, it is a limited anniversary expression from Japan's oldest whisky house carrying no age statement.
Maturation in ex-bourbon casks gives the distillery's cleanest, sweetest register, with vanilla, coconut and ripe orchard fruit set against a light spice. With American oak leading and no sherry or wine to crowd it, the soft, rounded character of the spirit comes through clearly. Bottled at cask strength 48%, it keeps a fresh, lively core while the anniversary framing marks the occasion.
