Yamazaki 25 Years Old

Yamazaki 25 Years Old is a long aged single malt from Suntory's distillery in the valley of Shimamoto, Osaka Prefecture, where the Katsura, Uji and Kizu rivers meet and soft humidity coaxes the spirit along. Released in 2025 at the top of the core range, it is among the most coveted bottlings Japan's first malt distillery makes, and a showcase for what decades in Japanese oak can give.

Maturation took place in mizunara, the porous and slow giving Japanese oak that rewards patience above all other woods. Across twenty five years it lends the signature sandalwood, incense and temple wood notes that grow only with long ageing, laid over the distillery's ripe orchard fruit, vanilla and a swell of deep spice. Bottled at cask strength 48%, it stays composed and layered, unfolding slowly in the glass.
