Market-specific single cask releases have been a feature of Shizuoka's approach to international distribution, offering import markets a dedicated cask as the distillery builds its global footprint.
At 50%, this Taiwan release sits at an accessible cask strength, with the Ex-Bourbon wood contributing vanilla, fresh apple and soft toasted cereal over four years. The Shizuoka new make, produced on cedar washbacks and a pair of copper pot stills, brings orchard fruit and a light floral note that the bourbon oak frames rather than overwhelms. A single cask bottled specifically for one of the distillery's key Asian export markets.
