Yamazakura Blended Whisky is a no age statement blend from Sasanokawa Shuzo in Fukushima prefecture, bottled at 40% for the European market. Sasanokawa Shuzo has produced whisky under the Yamazakura name for decades, and the blended range has historically drawn on a mix of own-distilled and sourced components to maintain continuity across its various markets. This expression is the entry-level flagship of the blended line.

Matured in Ex-Bourbon casks, the blend carries fresh, light character: new wood, a hay-like grain note and the clean cereal profile that bourbon-rested spirit typically brings at an accessible strength. The flavour profile points to a young blend built for straightforward drinkability rather than complexity. At 40% it is approachable and honest, a workmanlike expression from one of Fukushima's most experienced blending houses.
