Sakurao Togouchi Sake Cask Finish is a no age statement blended whisky from Sakurao Brewery & Distillery in Hiroshima, bottled at 40% for the European market. The Togouchi range is matured in the railway tunnel cellar in Hiroshima, and the sake cask finish variant makes use of Japanese sake casks, a distinctly local finishing wood with a subtle, delicate character.
The blend rests first in Bourbon barrels before transferring to sake casks for finishing. The sake wood lends a mild rice-grain sweetness, gentle floral notes and a soft texture to the vanilla and cereal base of the blend.
