Sakurao Togouchi Peated

Sakurao Togouchi Peated is a no age statement blended whisky from Sakurao Brewery & Distillery in Hiroshima, bottled at 40% for the European market. The Togouchi range uses a former railway tunnel in Hiroshima as a maturation environment, and the Peated expression gives the line a smokier character alongside its other core releases.

Matured in Bourbon barrels, the blend carries light vanilla and cereal sweetness as its base, with peat smoke introduced through the blend's composition to give the expression its defining character. The provenance and full makeup of the blend are undisclosed, as is consistent with the Togouchi range, and the expression is positioned as an accessible introduction to smoky Japanese-style blended whisky.
